Zonta International of Bangkok 1 (3 Branches)

01          The operations in terms of Child Center have the purpose of providing education to a large number of underprivileged children in the community and the nearby area with mainly poor, moderate status to be cared and fostered in terms of development so as to be appropriate with their age.  It is also about lightening the burden of care for enabling parents to carry out occupation for supporting family, increasing revenue.  As a result, there has been the initiative to establish the Child Care Center on March 2, 1998 by Z.Passana Suwansatiarn, President of Zonta Bangkok Club 1 with the administration years from 1996 to 1998 on land of National Housing.  Zonta International of Bangkok 1comprises:

 

          Children’s Center totaling 3 branches for children aged between 2-6 years by dividing into four levels which consist of:
- Children's Center Zonta International of Bangkok 1, Bungkum Branch totaling 300 people.
- Children's Center Zonta International of Bangkok 1, Branch 2, Flat 10,  Huai Khwang Community Housing totaling 50 people.
- Children's Center Zonta International of Bangkok 1, Branch 3, Flat 1, Huai Khwang Community Housing totaling 50 people to raise  awareness and create positive attitude towards basic education in early childhood level. This is a critical age that should be developed in all aspects, including physical, emotional, mental, social and intellectual terms on the basis of individual capabilities and differences.

 

02          In terms of personnel, there are a total of 37 teachers, 4 housewives with the arrangement of meeting, training for providing knowledge to develop the potential of teachers so as to have appropriate knowledge, ability for child care. Four teachers are selected by Huai Khwang District Office to be "good teacher" in terms of underprivileged children so as to help children, women, the elderly, disabled and disadvantaged people further. 

 

          In the field of instruction management, there is the arrangement of activities for preparation, practicing basic skills to enhance life experience and skills in mathematics, Thai, English languages, dancing art, music and computer.  The children are trained to be assertive, creative in accordance with early childhood curriculum B.E. 2546. There has been the operation for academic development and management in preparation for the Educational Quality Assessment by the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA) as the first place of Bangkok Metropolis. Projects and activities that the Center has carried out:
          To Be Number One Project :  The Center has implemented  To Be Number One Project,  Suwanprasit Community  2 for the area of Child Development Center, Zonta International  of Bangkok 1 (Branch 1) Bungkum.  There are 986 members comprising children and young people in Suwanprasit Communities 1, 2, and 3 and the nearby area. Currently, such project has received outstanding award of preparation as silver level model of Bangkok Metropolis.

 

03          Chinese language training program :  Chinese language training is held in conjunction with the Technical Promotion and Support Office, Region 7, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and the Development for Children and Youth Foundation in the slums under the Royal Patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn.  There is the arrangement of Chinese language training to children and young people aged 10 to 20 years totaling 20 persons every Friday with Chinese lecturers as instructors from 17.00 - 19.00 hrs. The purposes are to promote and provide opportunities for children and youth to learn about foreign language and spend leisure time usefully.
          Activities of promoting analytical and synthetic thinking process EAP : The personnel have been sent to take part in training as lecturer in organizing activities to promote analytical and synthetic thinking process (Experiential Activities Planner).  They are development activities for children to learn about planning and using reasons for analysis and synthesis of problems and finding the solution to problems.  There is the arrangement in four learning units which include the methods of making life, family; community happy, making young people love to learn, etc.  The location of Children's Center was used along with lecturers in the organization of event in the past month of September in collaboration with the Office of Welfare Promotion, Protection and Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups with the participation of 200 children and young people.
